Not every test is the same. Some versions are more difficult than others, but most people will agree with me when I say that the Principles of Management CLEP is pretty easy and doesn’t require a whole lot of studying. Even if you’re not majoring in business or finance I would recommend taking this one to obtain some quick elective credits.
After I sent all of my transcripts to TESC (Thomas Edison State College) to be evaluated, I was told that two of my Fema courses were not accepted for general elective credit. With my graduation deadline approaching soon, I researched what remained of the easier tests that I’d yet to knock out.
Despite having no background or interest in management and hating the material, one day of studying the right resources scored me a 61.
Many of the questions were easily answered with common sense, but you will need to know many theorists and be able to match them to their theories.
Study resources
I went through the InstantCert cards twice. If you subscribe to InstantCert you can gain access to their specific exam feedback forum where one of the users uploaded a thoroughly detailed study guide.
Then I read through the Principles of Management Cliff Notes.
A great series of videos, I didn’t use but you may find helpful, can be found here at the Education Portal.
If you would like to take a practice test try one of the Peterson’s.
Another good practice test can be found at Free-Clep-Prep.

Hi Fred,
I see this is dated 2014. Has the CLEP exam changed since then and is your recommended study material still the same? Is there a particular book you like to study with?
Thank you,
Debra
